If lovebirds can’t decide where to dine this Valentine’s Day, there's no need to panic. Online restaurant reservations site, OpenTable, has unveiled the 50 most romantic restaurants in the UK.

Based on reviews left from more than 1,080,000 verified OpenTable diners and collected at more than 8,500 restaurants in 2019, the list charts all areas of the UK, as well as favoured cuisine.

London dominates the top 50 most romantic restaurants list with 18 entries, followed by a strong northern offering across Manchester and Liverpool.

From French restaurant, Café St Honoré in Edinburgh to bistro hotspot, Wreckfish in Liverpool, there is an incredible array of culinary experiences for the nation to choose from this Valentine’s Day.

Which cuisine is most popular?

Despite the plethora of choices, the most popular cuisine couples opted for last year was British (23 per cent), followed by Italian - with 1 in 10 (10 per cent) reserving the romantic European favourite. Steak restaurants were the next most popular.
