Hide AdPiecing together Agatha Christie’s intriguing 11-day disappearance with meticulous detail, it shows how the great writer ended up at Harrogate’s Hydro Hotel, now the Old Swan, after vanishing from her Berkshire home on Friday, December 3, 1926.
One theory has it that the creator of Poirot and Miss Marple had fallen into a trance-like state brought on by depression.
Whatever the truth, the fact is she was discovered in Harrogate by a banjo player and a saxophonist in the hotel’s dance orchestra, who informed the police and brought her husband to Harrogate.
Room 253 is part of Harrogate Theatre’s forthcoming All Points North Season.
