From: Vivien Schornagel, High Cleugh, Ripon.
I WOULD like to say, on behalf of all the residents of High Cleugh, that the letter in last week’s ‘Letters and Opinions’ from a Borrage Lane resident in no way reflects the views and feelings of the residents of High Cleugh.

To relieve traffic congestion during work on Coltsgate Hill, we understood why it was right to open the road to one-way traffic as a temporary measure.

As for the person who wished for serious flooding to occur, how can anyone in their right mind wish for a disaster like that! There are people living in Borrage Lane who manage on just old age pensions and they, along with all the residents, suffer a great deal when flooding occurs.

Please, please can we now stop all this hatred, bad feeling and public outcry.

Have these people nothing better to do with their time than write vitriolic letters and poems? I feel very sorry for them. Why not write about the beautiful place they live in or how kind and friendly the majority of people who live in Ripon are?
