I am not the only one who is objecting

From: Mark DeOweneley, Ash Bank Road, Ripon.
I WAS wondering how long it would be before the previously seemingly ubiquitous Karyn Fleeting would raise her head; as usual it is not what Ms Fleeting says but what she does not that is the key to her letters.

Ms Fleeting (Letters, May 23) gives
the impression I am alone in objecting to and finding her campaign full of mis-representations. Not so. I am in good company. Letters from Coun Pat Jones of May 2 and 7 to Neil Grandison contain the phrases "the council must take issue with the inaccuracies" and "whilst your group maintains a position based on misrepresentation of the facts and realities of the situation".

Additionally, concerns were also raised by Coun Charlie Powell in his excellent letter a few weeks ago. Two very crucial people in this decision making process that like myself have recognised the gaping holes in the Save Our Spa campaign and its failure to respond with facts when challenged.

I did not in any way suggest that the people of Ripon were stupid, just that they may have not been aware that they were not being presented with the full facts or a truly balanced argument.

I find it very hard to swallow to be lectured by someone, who only moved to Ripon in Spring 2007, on the future of the Spa Baths facilities; facilities which, on her own admission, Ms Fleeting has never used. The customers of Ripon Baths desperately need new modern facilities and Ms Fleeting and her like should not be allowed to prevent this happening.
