IN response to the comments from the ‘Borrage Lane Resident’ on the Keep Ripon Moving website. I am neither an idiot nor a communist. In fact “communism” is a system in which goods/property are held in common and are available to all as needed. During the time of traffic chaos, Borrage Lane is needed and should therefore be made available to all.

Regarding “paying a far higher community charge than the rest of Ripon”, I think you’ll find that you probably receive that back when we have the floods, when such a lot of time and resources are spent on “your much higher value houses.”

Remember that Borrage Lane is a public highway; if you wish it to become a ‘private road’ then don’t expect the rest of us to pay our community charge to cover the costs of lighting, policing and refuse collecting.

Ripon’s resources come to you in your hour of need; this is now Ripon’s hour of need. So much for community spirit!
