Toys for deaf and blind children appeal to reach £8k
The Rotary Club of Wetherby Wharfedale, last October appealed to Wetherby News readers to help them raise £8,000 to buy sensory toys for 60 children.
“The response to the Wetherby News article has been much appreciated with donations being received from members of the public,” said Trust Secretary David Shackleton.

“So, we are heading towards our target. With money raised to date we have bought many toys – just in time for Christmas presents – and would welcome further help so that we can purchase many more toys both to distribute and also to build a library for future use.
“Ideally, the toys can be handed on to the next generation as each child grows.”
